Copies were then made of everyones materials and those were the only resources we were allowed to use, except we could not bring in the images we brought. Each students message then got assigned to a different student. Students were not allowed to use the computer. The sentence I got was "There is no nature." Upon touring the Aquarium and speaking to many guides I learned that the aquarium was a non-profit space but because of the cultural context and current design it appears to be a playground for children and has to compete with entities like Disneyland. For this reason I decided to rebrand the aquarium to be less kid-centered and and attempted to make the aquarium feel more like a museum for the general public to attract older demographics and less like a themepark for children. The mark plays with the notion of depth, and volumetric space of water, where white is a liquid that suspends the typography. The use of color is extremely sparse and reserved so as to draw attention and focus to the colors of the aquarium tanks themselves. These hand silk-screened posters are an attempt to take certain aspects of the visual aesthetic of the movements time period and re-contextualize it in a more contemporary fashion. By doing so the posters are emulating what the screenings are doing, re-contextualizing the films in a contemporary setting.
